Guatemala Mission Trip

Hello friends and family!

It has been a while since I last posted on my blog, but I’m excited to announce that I will be leaving in a few weeks to go on a mission trip with St. Pius X High School to San Andres Iztapa, Guatemala. While we are there we will be staying with a group of Carmelite Sisters and helping around the local community. Some of the things we will be doing include building homes and chicken coops, delivering care packages and meals to the local towns specifically those sick or unable to get out on their own, as well as spending time with the children in the local orphanage.

I am hoping to be able to post a few updates while I am there, but I’m unsure what our internet or data coverage will be like while we are there so no promises!

In the mean time I come asking for your help. We are hoping to bring a good amount of items down to donate to the sisters, orphanage and local community. Items we are looking for include:

Clothing for adults, teens and children
Shoes of all sizes (adult and children)
Toys and candy for the children at the orphanage

If you are local to Kansas City please reach out and we can work out a time to connect before I leave on June 9th to collect donations.

If you are not local to Kansas City, or wish to contribute monetarily to the mission trip you can do so on the St. Pius X website. I have posted the direct link below with instructions on how to denote your gift is for the mission trip.

Finally, I would love to be able to carry you all in prayer during this time, so if you have any specific intentions please feel free to spend those my way. Please pray for our group, for safe travels and to remain healthy while we are there and for those we will encounter, that they are open to receiving and hearing the message and love of Jesus Christ.
